I was fortunate to recently take a trip to Europe and had a wonderfully bookish surprise when arriving at our hotel in Amsterdam. My sister was kind enough to select the hotel and mention that the reason for its selection was a surprise…I was intrigued…and boy was it a good one!
Upon arrival to The Hotel Ambassade I found a beautiful library in the hotel lobby bar. Of all things, a library. In the library, you can relax, enjoy a selection of the finest international whiskeys, among other beverages and light fare, while being surrounded by an impressive collection of over 5000 books, all signed by authors who have stayed at the Ambassade Hotel.
It was a wonderful and unique setting for a book lover, or anyone who would just like to relax, have a drink and lite bite, and maybe take a look at the various books to see which authors have stayed at the hotel. If you are a book lover as I am, and you find yourself in Amsterdam, it is definitely worth a stop it. We also stayed at the hotel during our visit and it was a great location and very nice.
